Has anyone had an allergic reaction after eating mangos? My face seems to be very itchy, and looks a little pink in spots. I can also feel tiny bumps on my lips, no one can see them but I can feel them.

I work with kids and you wouldn't believe the amount of people that are allergic to tropical fruits. It's really not as uncommon as you think. Do you react with pinapples and things like that? I know they are all in a food group.

I don't think I'm allergic to pineapples but if I take big pieces and it rubs against the corners of my mouth, I get a little irritation there. I am recuperating from surgery and taking "Bromelain" which is an Enzyme from pineapples and I'm doing ok with that.

Sounds like oral allergy syndrome...just your mouth reacts.

im allergic to mango sap. i dont really like the taste of mangos so i dont eat them, but i know if i touch the fruit and get the sap on me i get a rash

I have read and heard but havent researched it but, mangos are related to poisen ivy and some people are allergic to the skin and n ot the flesh and there are many people who are allergic to the whole fruit.

A few years ago I touched a mango and my hand itched and my face swelled. Now I can eat mango and the juice but I won't touch the skin.
