I started having irregular periods starting last year during my senior year of high school and i thought it was simply due to stressing over tests, graduation, college application, etc. but it has been a whole year now and I got my period only once which was 2 months ago. If anyone has any answers as to what might be causing this, please help!

There are many possible causes for this and you should definitely speak to your doctor about it.

It is best to see your gynecologist about it. Maybe it could be PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)? Many women with PCOS experience irregular to no periods unless they take medication to help them ovulate which they must do when they want to try to concieve. If you have PCOS, going on birth control pills should help regulate your cycles.
It could also be issues with your thyroid hormone or other hormones in your body such as estrogen, progesterone, prolactin, FSH, LH.
If you exercise a lot or are underweight or dieting (eating fewer than 1200-1300 cal/day on a regular basis), that may send your body into starvation mode and stop your periods as well. I lost my periods for over a year while in college due to extreme exercising/undereating associated with anorexia.
