hey i am new here and i am glad i've found a place to go with my stuff. i talk to my therapist all the time but lately it's not helping. i was diagnosed bipolar in 1998 and have been on various different meds. i have a lot on my plate right now and i am having a really tough time coping. does anyone have any suggestions as to how i can stop feeling so overwhelmed? sometimes i am feeling so many different emotions at once i don't know what to do.if anyone is able to help it would be appreciated.

Hi Kimba42
You are not alone, trust me. Bipolar or not.....I am Mslainie, my son is Bipolar, my daughter is adhd, I go thru situation depression here and there. But last year I had a complete hysterectomy and it gave me a whole new respect for the Bipolar Illness, I had insomnia, panic attacks, start things dont finish, I never felt symtoms just to name a few in 41years. Now I am on hormones, but if I forget to take it, I feel nutty, ungrounded, my teens 16 & 14 and my Mom know right away I forgot my hormone. I been on this great board for over year and the amazing people you will see post, so welcome, it has helped me and I thought it was only for my BP son but It has greatly helped his sometimes overwelmed MOM. I forget who but I posted one day and they suggested I get my own councilor, I always taking care of everyone else did and I see her every 2-4 weeks. I wasnt thrill at first, but I dont talk to many people about my son's Bipolar. If you dont live it or with it, it is not easy to describe the illness. But when I made my 1st appointment, I thought my plate was full and then my Best friend/ Boy Friend on-off 7years died at 35. He was Bipolar, not that its relavent, but the sweetest, kind, fun, loving man.
I miss him so much. But anyway I would try another therapist or see them more. Or call your psy doc and get an appointment asap. I called my GYN in middle of night, I thought I was losing my mind. So maybe you can talk to someone, even your primary doc to help you thru.
I thank you for posting and letting me talk about my Boyfriend.
Keep posting and Good Luck.....
