Copper,
Did the pain stay in the heel area or did it radiate up the ankle and foot as well as the calf? I've had days when I can hardly walk and the pain in pure unadulterated HELL. It never ceases to amaze me how much territory this syndrome can cover (LOL). Just when I figure it has hit all of me, another spot pops up. Aren't we lucky!?!

Hi
I have that terible heel problem too. Not much fun at all! This year has been the first year for about 7 that the pain has gone away at times. I have found the best solution for me is to wear footwear with really good arch support all the time. If you can find an easy to slip on pair of sandals with good arch support it takes some of the strain off and helps ease the pain. A pair of orthotic insoles helps too.
All the best
Robyn

Hi Charlie!
Fancy meeting you here! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wink.gif
It's hard to say what affected what with this for me....I've got so many OTHER foot problems that even after fixing the fascitis, my ankles, calves and toes are still pretty wasted.
However, the chiropractic effect on the fascitis was pretty definitive. For me, the fascitis was in my heels and about a 1-1/2" wide strip up the insole (arch) to the large toe. Pretty consistent with the actual shape of that plantar tendon.
It REALLY hurt to have the adjustment. In fact, I let loose such a howl, my daughter came busting through the treatment room door to find out what "HE'd" done to me! Bless her little heart. She is very 'in to' taekwondo, and I think she was ready to take this hulk of a man (big dr.) right on down to the floor to protect her mama! Ha! Gotta luv it!
Anyway, AFTER the adjustment, I was real sore all that day, and a little of the next, but the fascitis pain was gone, and has not returned. Now I just have to live with the neuromas, arthritis, tarsal tunnel, and pinched nerves in my feet. But, hey! THAT'S another story!
hugs,
Copper

You are so right about foot problems. I've had surgery on my left foot for norton's neuroma, and then earlier this week I had the same painful feeling between two of my other toes. I just don't know if I want to face surgery again, so I am hoping it's just an FMS pain.
I have a visit with both my doctors on Monday and Tuesday, but I have to send my LTD office copies of my pain diary and then they need more detailed letters from my doctors. What a joke. And to top this off, Wally has to have more surgery on December 1. His lymph system is still leaking and they have to correct this. Other than that things are OK.
P.S. Tell your daughter she is OK in my book. Sometimes I feel like knocking my doctors out too.

I can relate to plantar faciitis and heel pain...I went to physical therapy for 3 months of hydrotherapy and ultrasound treatments. It took the edge off but nothing seems to take it away...Copper had recommended to me a chiropractor that does extremities and I am inclined to try it. Good Luck Scooby
