View Full Version : A Disappearing Mole?

Not sure if this is the right place for it but..

Not to long ago, must've been about 2 years ago i had a small mole on the left side of my face next to my ear that had no pigementation around it or something - It had a larger circle around it that was lighter then the rest of my skin.

I got it checked out by a doctor and she said that it was perfectly normal and just had no pigmentation. Then over the next 2 years it had started to fade and i checked for it tonight and it simply isn't there anymore. Not a trace it ever was. Should i be worried?

Also - I have two moles on my right shoulder that are slightly raised .. as in.. They stick out. They are a light brown colour all over and feel like little bumps when i touch them. I am thinking they are slightly raised from when i almost dislocated my shoulder when it had a car door opened onto it.. maybe from the force? If i touch a specific area on my shoulder it is painful throughout my shoulder. Again, should i be worried?

I'm new here and have had little experience with this forum but I can tell you this about me. If something worries me that could be alleviated by consulting a doctor, consulting a doctor is what I would do. Why wiat and let it bug you? Get expert advice and get piece of mind.;)

There is such a thing as regression - basically the body attacks the mole and it eventually just isn't there. The reason for this is usually that there is an issue with it... not always though.

As with anything else, there is no clear cut way to know anything for sure. The best thing to do is bring it up to your doctor or better yet, a derm. They are pretty savvy with being able to look at something and just know. But like I have said many times before, it is your body, if YOU are uncomfortable with something even if the doctor says it is okay - it is sometimes best to follow your instinct.

Wishing you the best!
