Anyone know if you can take both of these?
I suffer from seizures and anxiety/panic. I need something to get rid of this panic and I know that prozac has worked in the past.

Keppra actually causes anxiety and moodswings (also known as "Kepprages"). It has been documented that a B6 vitamin supplement can curb these side effects. Is it possible that the Keppra is causing your anxiety?
Doctors are really happy to go script happy (at least from my experience). I would definitely try to limit the amount of drugs that play with your brain chemistry. I have found through experience, that the more you take, the worse your chances are of having adverse side effects. I was on Topamax, Lorazapam, Exelon, Ambien (all brain drugs) and in reality the Lorazapam, Exelon and AMbien were all prescribed to deal with the side effects from teh Topamax. I really didn't need them. I just needed a new anti epileptic drug since the topamax wasn't working. Keppra, incidentally is what I take now which is how I found otu about the B6.

I had panic issues before being diagnosed with seizures. So I don;t think it is the Keppra. The increase to 500mg twice daily - I am so tires. Hoping this will pass.
How much B6 do you take?

That's what I'm on. 500 mg of Keppra, twice a day. Just started it recently (as I wean off Topa, Dopamax, Stupamax, Mademementallyincapacitatedmax). I was so incredibly tired first couple of days but then got better.
I take one B6 tablet a day. 100 mg pill but i've read from people who take 2 a day. I may up the dose once the topamax is completely out of my system.
Prozac is really an anti-depressant. anti anxiety drugs are lorazapam, diazapam (valium), xanax....maybe you're better off w/ one of those? Also, kava kava is a natural herb that curbs anxiety which for a while I took (before my neuro got me hooked on lorazapam to curb the anxiety that i was getting from the topamax....gotta be careful, some doctors just go script happy).

I do take Klonopin 0.25 when needed. But I was thinking maybe an SSRI would be better. I have tried them in the past with no luck. Too many side effects. I gained 30 pounds with celexa in about a month.
I was diagnosed with panic disorder. I had it under control but I always felt I was in this fog. Like I was in a dream all of the time. My Dr told me it was all in my head. then I switched doctors who ran an eeg and found it was seizures.
I am new to this and am really having a hard time accepting this.
Wasn't sure if you could take an SSRI with Keppra or if you have seizures.
I am going to try the B6 and stay on the klonopin as needed. I have taken it in the past but I could never take more that .5 mg as I just get so out of it so I split them in 1/2.
Thank you for helping me out. I appreciate it.

No problem. Good luck w/ the Keppra.
FYI, I was on celexa and I put on so much weight, then when I came off it I had these awful head zaps. It was like being stuck in the head w/ a cattle prod. I remember I ended up having a seizure at this time. I was on Topamax at this time.
On the upside, I did lose all the weight I put on. It just melted right off me.
Good luck. You will be okay. Yoga used to help me deal with the anxiety (pre Topamax, then I got this weird condition where I couldn't sweat and I was afraid to exert myself). Now that I'm getting off Topamax, I am going to resume yoga....I was at my peak when I did it twice a week.

I am going to get back into yoga and see if this will help me out.
I hate to take SSRI's - if I can get the benefits of practicing yoga then I think I will be better.
Just hate starting new meds and waiting for the side effects subside.
Thanks so much
