Scooby 11-27-2000, 05:21 PM Hi Kim
I was on that website today and unfortuneately the one doctor in my vicinity is full to capacity which means I need to ditch this HMO :-)
On the up side the receptionist said she would call back if he had someone he could reccomend.

korken 11-27-2000, 05:58 PM Scooby, Did you look in the states near to you? Mine is located in Fairless Hills as well as Plymouth Meeting PA. We got rid of our HMO almost 4 years ago. we pa for the traditional bc/bs. It's been woth every penny. We could never afford our health care w/o it. Good luck, Kim
Scooby 11-27-2000, 09:05 PM thanks again for the lead I will certainly check into it What hospitals would they be associated with? I am closet to Jefferson and Univ of Penn.

korken 11-28-2000, 06:45 PM Frankford hospitals. Dr. Steven Katz, D.O. Had to answer before going to bed. I feel terrible today. Good luck, Kim
Scooby 11-28-2000, 10:54 PM So sorry you are having a rough day:-(
I was going through the USHealthcare book all day yesterday trying to match up names and hospitals etc.
I think I figured your doctor to be approx. an hour or more away. There is a great fibro doc 10 minutes away who takes my insurance but is filled at this time. What do I do in that case?
Hope you bounce back quickly !

Scooby 11-29-2000, 11:28 AM Hi Kim Glad to hear you are feeling better. Yesterday was the first day I was out and about for about 3 weeks. Just getting out of the house and driving myself felt good in itself. I appreciate all your help in the dr. area. Who would have thought in this day and age finding a doctor would be such a problem.

korken 11-29-2000, 01:19 PM Scoobs, You are not kidding. What is wrong w/drs today. It's imposible to get a good one unless it is at the begining of there practice. They seem to loose there focuse after a short while and then they over look new symtoms in relationship to your past symtoms. Some times I guess it takes a new perspective and one that has interest. Have a good day and I know what you mean about driving. Take good care, Kim
Scooby 11-29-2000, 04:20 PM I have my appointment with Dr. Stupid on Friday ...and I am going to be upfront and tell him that I do not feel he is being efficient in handling my case and that I want a referral to go to a specialist who is more in tune such as an Infectious Disease Dr. The 2 Rhuem he sent me to said there was nothing wrong with me. They felt dropping a few pounds would cure me. Do they realize if I could move around like I used to I wouldnt have gained weight in the first place. Does anyone elses weight fluctuate???

korken 11-29-2000, 05:51 PM Yes, weight is a problem. I've been 86 lbs. to 232 lbs. with my last. now I've only lost 66 lbs. in two yrs. Take care and give the doctor H..., Good luck, Kim
Elaine from Kentucky 11-29-2000, 08:09 PM Hehehe - count me in on the weight thing. I think you people read my mind. I'm 5'7" and in the 170's now, I think. The major weight gain is in my gut. I just went up a size in jeans. Do you think its the meds? Or lack of exercise (ok, I'm guilty). But that's another story...
Scooby 11-30-2000, 02:13 AM Yes I feel my metabolism slowed down around the same time every other system in my body slowed down. I have tried various ways of losing but without any real results. In fact in April when I was hospitalized for 8 days only allowed IV fluids with pancreatitis and gallbladder surgery.... Guess how many pounds lost? Zero Amazing huh?
