Why do you need blood work when taking depakote?
How often?

What happens if the depakote is off per the blood work?

Thanks, my son is taking it, has been on it a month.

I take depakote and they are supposed to check the blood levels every six weeks. My doc is so good I have to remind him. :(

If the blood work is off per unit then they will make a change in the amount your son is taking.

Hope this helps. :)
