I was so excited to have a 2nd of productivity that I think I over did it just a bit. I got up and did laundry, drove to my sisters to wrap presents, came back cooked dinner, went to the mall returning things already :) Went grocery shopping and thats when it occurred to me I had done too much. Just as I tripped out of the grocery store and into the car while my hubbie loaded the groceries. I was done.

Hey guys maybe I caught myself just in time....I am ok today..not wonderful but not lousy. I am going to try and put up the rest of the Christmas decorations and go out to dinner with my hubbie. It is my 15 year anniversary today :) and Yes I did say I was 34. Very unusual these days huh?

I was once told one of the biggest problems with FMers is we are usually overachievers and most likely type"A" personalities. So, it would figure we don't know when to quit until it's too late. I went for a 12 mile mountain biking ride back in Sept. and it took about a month to completely recover from it...dumb, just dumb. On the other side of the coin, exercise is the key. I recovered by going rollerskating. I skated for a solid 1 1/2 hours and it worked the front of my legs, finally releasing the knots in my calves from the bike riding, which stopped the pain in my heals from the excessive tight muscles. Now, how's that for stupid dumb luck? I now constantly try to think in terms of opposite use of muscles. Use it too much one way, find an opposite way to use it. It works to release the spasms and pain in most cases. It's just tough to figure out how sometimes. Take Care, John

Hi John Thanx for the tip :)
In the fall I started this walking routine where I decided I would do a little more a little faster a little farther each day gradually increasing it until I had my legs back. Needless to say after 3 weeks the only thing that increased was the agony. Obviously the wrong regimen for me. I have a pair of rollerblades and I used to use them all the time before all this. I am tempted to give them a try. (In the garage or basement) Just in case I lost my knack :)

Well, this is my third post today. I feel like I am letting it all out today. Good days are bad for me too. I do have one every now and then, but as everyone else, I don't know how to act. I don't get much done on those days, but what I do leaves me exhausted. I know this typing and trying to think and not misspell words will wear me out for the night. I may be able to do it again tomorrow, or I may not. But it doesn't take very much at all to put me down. I used to be able to catch a good day and clean house, or work in the yard, or go shopping. Now, I feel good if I can come here and read the board, and get my brain and fingers to work together so I can type. Take care everybody! Linda D

After reading the last response I realized I am a bit more active than others. I apologize if I have offended anyone. I feel guilty now for some of my gripes and afraid of what is waiting for me in the future.
I think this message board is doing me some good though in understanding how complicated this is.

Scoobs, Don't feel bad! Be happy for the good days! When the pain isn't real bad, and the anxiety is at a norm, I have good days, too (just not a lot of them, lately!). For example, last night I was by myself and couldn't stand the mess any longer. I hadn't done the dishes all week, my house was a wreck. So, I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned. I felt good emotionally, and I think I got some steam out in the process, but boy did I hurt afterwards. It wasn't until I sat down that I realized how bad I hurt. I was just happy I made it through another day, and my dishes were clean!

Scooby, never feel guilty for feeling good! Take every minute of it and cherish it. Just because some of have more or different problems doesn't mean you will have them. Each of us is different. A certain problem or pain might be intolerable to me but not so bad for you, and vice versa. Each person has their limits and if you and I stood side by side, had the same amount of pressure exerted on our leg muscles in the same place, it might cause you to scream out in pain while it may not hurt me as bad. Please don't let what you read here scare you. You may never get to the point that some of us are. Also, the stress level of a person's life has alot to do with their FM. I know what mine are, and I know that Elaine is under a tremendous amount of stress.I'm sure lots of others are too. Also, there are other illness or conditions that aggrevate some of our FM. I think my CFS is so much worse than the FM. I feel like I'm rambling on and on.I'm tired tonight. I just wanted to say..don't think that just because some of us are going through things that it means you have to! Know what I mean? Hugs and good wishes! Linda D. PS...As for myself, AGE has alot to do with it!

Scoobs, How did you put that smilie face into your post? When I get good days I indulge in shopping first for the food clothes for the kids what ever, cleaning, ect. and I always over do. I can't take it easy. But, a nice hot tub, low lights, warm room, nice music, relax is fun too. Take care, Kim
