Hi, I was reading through some old posts as I have been away, summer vacation...I was wondering how your friend is doing?

To answer your question; My friend just returned from a 2 week vacation to visit her family (which she had planned before her diagnosis, and I'm so glad she decided to go through with it). She goes for a Mastectomy on Wednesday morning. While she was gone I went to her place with a couple of our closest friends and cleaned the house from top to bottom, so she shouldn't have anything too tiring to do before her surgery. She can spend time with her daughter and do the things she likes to do, like gardening, etc.
It sounds like she has her surgery day pretty well planned out; her sister is going to take her to the hospital while her hubby is taking care of their little girl, so I am just waiting to see what else I can do for her.
I have told her about this message board. I'm not sure if she has checked it out yet, but I'm sure she will; I've told her what an amazing group you all are.

I too had a mastectomy, it will be 5yrs this January..but I can remember every detail like it was yesterday..tough, tough times...its been a long journey
but it was all worth it..I am alive, and with my hubby , kids, family and friends..making more memories!!
I will keep her in my prayers...and you too!!
