I am a 19 year old aspiring musical theatre performer and have been diagnosed with LPR. I am on double dose of PPI's currently. I do not experience any hoarseness, my main symptom is feeling as if food is caught in my throat. My singing voice sounds fine- actually I see improvement in my singing voice, however sometimes while hitting higher notes I will feel some pain and than I stop singing so high.

I was wondering, if anyone has experience with LPR and singing and how it can effect the singing voice...my case of LPR definetly is not severe, but if I am unable to pursue singing I don't know what I will do. Please any help is appreciated.

I am not a professional singer but I like to sing just for fun sometimes. I noticed that when I try to hit high notes my voice cracks and sounds weak. I also have hoarseness in the am. I have read that singers with LPR have difficulty hitting high notes. Talk to your dr. about this. Maybe he/she will have some advice as to how you can treat it so you can sing. I wish you lots of luck in this. I will be anxious to know if you find anything that helps so please post when you know.
