Hi everyone,

Just wonderin on average how long it took everyone to get thier results (uk nhs) from havin the colcoscopy?
I have my appointment today and tryin to get as much info as I can really,

The first colposcopy I had, they didn't biopsy anything and just took another pap. I thought I would get the results but it wasn't until my next colposcopy 7 months later, when the gyn said "The results from your last colposcopy weren't anything serious".

He did another one and this time took a biopsy. I was told 4-6 weeks for the biopsy results. It's been 5 now and no word - not sure if I get a letter or phone call, or even if they send them to me if they're normal.

Well I have jus got back from my appointment, (was far more painfull than I expected unfortunately!)
They took a a biopsy and I was told about 2 weeks I willl ether get a phone call or/and letter. So 2 weeks is not to long for me to wait, 5 weeks? Eeek I would be goin crazy! Have you rang the hospital that took the biopsy? Or your gp to see if they have heard anything?

I'm sorry you found it painful - I did too and I'd like to think I have quite a high pain threshold! Some peeps are ok with it so maybe it depends on the person doing it.

That's great you only have to wait 2 weeks - I hope the results are good. I sent my GP a complaint a couple of weeks ago over a few things (all related to cervical screening) and haven't had a response. I think I'll call the hospital tomorrow and ask them.
