Does anyone know what the average time for people to be sensitive to light and have dry eyes after lasik? I hear it's normal and should go away. Although, I didn't hear of it before the surgery. The papers stated it but the people I talked to never mentioned it.

it took me about a week or two for all of the light sensitivity to go away completely, and now, over 8 months post-op, i still have dry eyes, but not horribly. when did you have your surgery?

I had my surgery 8 weeks ago. The first month I got along fine and for the past month I have been very sensitive to light.

Hi,
The light sensitivity for me was only an issue for a few weeks. The dry eyes, however, lasted for months. I just had my 9 month post op appointment today and my vision is better than 20/20 and my eyes are very comfortable and rarely bother me. But for the first 3 or 4 months I had dry eyes to the point where they were uncomfortable. But I think my result so far has been fantasic and I don't regret it at all and feel it was worth every penny!!!

The literature says:
Light sensitivity: "a few weeks".
Dry eyes: "up to 6 months"
The above date apply to about 80% of the people of course like everything else in life it is a Bell Curve and one can wind up on the wrong part of the curve.
