Scoobs, I think that we are all attached at the navel to this board. Every time we post we see a new one and have to answer. It's very addictive. But, ha, what else would we be doing? Love, Kim

Yes walking in the mall is very rough on the legs and feet, however, shopping can do wonders for the soul!
http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif I somehow manage to suffer through shopping....it is worth it!

Hi Scoobs, Cyn and all, I agree that having to push myself, having a baby does that, I wasn't able to get out of bed for sooo many months a couple years really. But, I had to pick up and walk a lot and go up and down the stairs soooo much, it really helped. I'm so tired but, at least now I can move around. I don't get out too much, but yes, shopping hurts and helps. My mom doesn't get it, but she says you have to work hard for the good times and pain is just part of life. Sure that sounds good, but hard to do. Cyn, I use ace bandages on my hands and feet to. The worst is my thumbs, when I try to pick up Patrick, it hurts so much but, I figure it's only FMS and I am not injuring myself so push through it. I use my wrists. Some times it hurt's so much that I want to cut off my hands. When I was a teen I would just lie in bed crying from the pain. Do you ever have your whole body turn numb? I do and I who use tobe so very ticklish, I am no longer. I don't always feel things that touch just my skin. It does vary in degree though. Do you? Well I went off subject. Take good care and love to all, Kim

You all are right, we are addicted to the board, but at least I feel these are people who understand what I am talking about. I don't think my mom really believed the amount of pain until my younger sister came down with FMS.
Kim, I also get the pain in my thumbs when I go to pick up grandchildren. It hurts like hell and I holler out sometimes because it hurts so bad. And yes, there are nights that I have just laid in bed and cried. This was even after taking pain meds that didn't work. Right now both wrists are really sore and the area on the top of my right hand feels like it is on fire. Feet and hands are ice cold and never seem to warm up. Hell on the days I fall and hurt myself I feel I could just keep my feet or hands on the area and it does just as good a job as an ice pack. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
I sure hope when the time goes, I go to hell because at least I will finally be warm. I can only assume it would be warm in heaven, but all the nuns told me about the fires in hell and right now it sounds real warm.

Speaking of nuns...I Went into the Acme yesterday to pick up my daughters asthma medication and realized I had almost walked out with 2 items in my hand that I didnt pay for so I went back through the line and explained what happened. The cashier said wow you are the first...I said you can thank the nuns that I had in grammar school. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

I can relate definitely to the nuns. When I was in first grade I started out being a "lefty". Well needless to say they turned me into a right-handed person telling me that I had the devil in me. Don't do many things with my left hand to this day. But when I had carpal tunnel surgery my doctor told me that even though it felt like my right hand was worse, my left hand was actually in worse shape. He said that that often happens in your dominant hand. I laughed and told him that the nuns converted me when I was young.
