I'm guessing you can't from a chain store, but, do pharmacies have a contract with certain generics? My pharmacy[mom and pops] has several generics for oxycontin, but for example,if I went into a chain pharmacy and they have teva for a generic oxycontin, but I asked if they would order watson, would they do that?
I'm guessing that they wouldn't.

Hey MH, It just depends on the individual chain or store. Some retailers have exclusive full line agreements and some retailers ship their own C-11's. Some use local joberrs or supliers for C-2 meds in the area to avoid the risk and hassle of shipping C-2's across state lines. A company that uses a local Jobber would be more likely be able to make that type of request.

Good luck, I've be stuck for several months now that Sams is carrying the full Mallincrap line  Hopefully one of their CEO will be back in the news for FTC violations making them less apealing to their vendors. But that's old news now. I"m sure the parent company "Tyco" had a few short quarters when there CEO and CFO were both convicted for embezzlement among other things. I guess some folks just can't live without their own Island with a runway in the bahamas. Isn't that what slush funds are for

I don't know about that. I use Target and asked that they order Watson for me last month. I'll check and see when I go in this month if they were able to do it. The head pharmacist wasn't there and the other lady wasn't sure if she could. She didn't see why they couldn't as it was listed in in their book of meds that was listed as being available for order.

I have a phenominal relationship with the pharmacist there and am hoping that she was able to order the watson generic. I go back middle of the month, so we'll see.

Never hurts to ask....

I use two pharmacies for my prescriptions. I know this probably wouldn't be acceptable to most PM docs, but I was never given a contract to sign and, if I had, I'd probably be in violation because I can't get my Duragesic Patch (generic) from Sandoz at the same pharmacy where I can get my oxycodone by anybody but Malinkrodt. I can ask for certain generics at my local CVS store, but the other pharmacy I use is a more local one that is attached to a grocery store and they must have a contract to use only certain generics. They can't order out of contract. So, that is why I have to use 2 pharmacies. Memere (Kathy)

I work in a pharmacy and we can't request a different manufacturers (like TEVA or Watson). We get what our wholeseller gives us when we place an order. Sometimes when we get our order we see that they sent us a different manufactuer. I would talk to your pharmacist. I know we can't do it, but they might be able to see if they can get a certain manufactuer from where they place their orders.
