It was the most unpleasant experience I ever experienced, and i am including childbirth with no drugs on this list.

Long story short, they were embedded, so she had to pull each one of the 18 stitches up and out before cutting them. I threw up and almost passed out due to the pain. its was horrible.

thats all for now.

hope everyone is doing good.

Sorry to hear you went through so much discomfort with getting the stitches out. When your doctor saw you in that much discomfort, I'm surprised she didn't offer you a local lidocaine shot or something.

I feel bad that you went through that pain. I got my stitches out today and it wasn't painful at all--a bit of discomfort. There was one that was very uncomfortable but I wouldn't call it extreme painful.

I expected some discomfort, but not pain. After about 3 stitches I said....do you have any novacaine or something to dull the pain, she giggled and said nope. I said well you should seriously think about doing that from now on cause this experienced sucked. she giggled again.

I get my sutures removed on Monday (11 days PO). Like most of you, I am in a plaster splint and have yet to see the incision. I have been able to watch my dad's back though because he got stitches in his back the same day as my surgery and he looks like he has one beginning to imbed. I fear for these imbedded sutures. Doesn't sound like fun. Ugh!!
