I'm on the generic Zoloft.
Took 50 mg for 4 weeks then increased 4-5 weeks ago to 100 mg.
I've improved some but not to the level I should be. It has helped my anxiety some but not the depression.
After increasing my dose, can it take the new dose the full 8 weeks or so to work?
I was on an SSRI's twice before in my life and it always took 8 weeks or so.
Thanks

Anytime you increase a dose you should give it 4 weeks to feel the full effect of that dose. If your time is 8 weeks then I would wait the 8 weeks.

It takes at least 2-3 weeks to even get in your system. I only felt like myself again after about 2 months. If in a few months you are still depressed You may want to try a different SSRI like Celexa, lexapro, prozac, etc. I would talk to your doctor. Sometimes you need to just try others out to see which one works for you. I tried Zoloft and had sexual side effects so I switched to Celexa and that is what worked for me.

zoloft for me always took four to eight weeks (sometimes even longer) to actually start working. it also made my anxiety a whole hell of a lot worse before it got any better.
