Hi CJ,

How are you? I am doing good. Last chemo on Thursday, I am so happy this is almost over. I have felt pretty good through the taxol, just a little achey. Nothing like the AC though. So I am glad you have been away enjoying your summer. That is great, because it is almost over. Cant believe it. School in 3 weeks for the kids. I am so looking forward to going back to the gym. I have not had any energy at all. I have not been there since March. I have put on a little weight, blaming it on the steroids though. So almost an end to chemo I am happy and also a little nervous. Hope you are feeling great and have done a lot of fun things.

Hey JOJO, nice hearing from you!! Well I do hope that you celebrate the end of your chemo..Ill have to let Linda49er know about that, maybe we can have a cyber party for ya!!
Its so normal to be a little nervous when the chemo ends..we all do!! kinda cause we feel that now we are out there..without any cancer fighters..but JOJO those are all normal feelings..I felt that way myself.
Trying to get every last bit of fun in!!

Yes, I am so excited for this to be over. It has been a long haul. I Have to keep my head positive. I am anxious for some hair also, just a little fuzz. Oh well, that is not a big deal. Really use to it now. Hope all is well with you, finish enjoying your summer.

Hi JOJO, I can remember wanting my hair to grow too..so badly!
and now that I have had it back for a few years, Ive decided to go back to having short hair!! Never thought I would do that!! but it looks really cute, and I get so many compliments too!
Just home for the night, getting my daughter ready to go away to college..I have such mixed emotions..this is her third year, and I still have not gotten used to her leaving!! but I am so happy that she is having this experience!!
Well just a few weeks of summer to go...Its gone by so quickly..

That Must Be Hard Sending Her Off To College, What I Have To Look Forward To. My 3 Are Going Into 6th, 9th, And 11th. Do You Have Another One At Home? Summer Did Go By Fast, It Was Crazy For Me With All This Going On. Met With The Recon. Doctor On Tues. Going In For My Expanders Early September. Then 4 Weeks After Starting Radiation. Wow, When I Think All I Have Gone Through, I Sometimes Cant Believe It. Isnt It Amazing.....well You Are A Real Tropper. Take Care And Enjoy The Few Days We Have Left.

Hey JOJO..yea, I have 2 still at home..one is 23, and saving some money before he makes the big move out, and my other is 16..I am always happy to have my kids home with me, and around me!
WOW JOJO, youve come through this journey with flying colors..God Bless you!! I had recon with expander as well and a reduction and lift on the other side..its not too bad..I felt more comfortable when the surgeon filled slowly, only once he put a little too much in, and I had a very uncomfortable few days..but it passed! I am very happy with my new breast, it made such a difference...feeling better about the way I look!! Lots of good wishes to you, always JOJO!

So glad to hear from you. Please tell me about the recon surgery. I am having both done, he told me a week with drains. I believe he is going to try to pump me up quickly because I am starting radiation 4 weeks after surgery. Give me any info you can on the expanders. How long did you have it in for? It feels weird being done with chemo and not going this week. I am definately happy about it. I cannot wait to get back to the gym, omg it is driving me crazy. I think I am going to try next week and go until I have surgery. Well off to get my son at football practice. Talk with you soon.

Hi JOJO, I had the recon a few years after my mast, due to a life threatening complication with my port..I had a saline implant on my mast side and lift and reduction on the other side. Its been a while, but I think that I had them in for about 6weeks..they are a little painful at first..but my body adjusted well. Youll look a little lopsided until the final fill...I actually stuffed my bra with cotton!! but I didnt care too much, because I was happy to be having my new boobie!! I gladly took whatever pain reliever that I needed..I always took something with me that day, as I had a long, often bumpy ride home..so I would take a pain killer before I left his office. They dont hurt at all the first few times, and bearable the next few. Have you
Oh, guess what..I went to the gym everyday during the fill..just took it slow and easy..walked on the treadmill, or should I say crawled..but I got myself there!!

Great news, I had a cat scan and bone scan yesterday both came out good. What a relief. It is so hard waiting and worrying. It makes me feel so good though. How often do you see your oncologist now?
I think I will start walking on the treadmill also. Start out slow.
How are you feeling? Do you feel like you did before you got the bc?

JOJO glad your excited about your recon..it really was the best thing I did for myself after breast cancer..and I would do it again!!
I see my onc every 3months still..it will be 5yrs for me in January..so maybe by then there will be more time in between..honestly I would rather stick with the 3month routine..I feel a little safer that way..I had a positive node and that kinda sticks with me mentally..did you have post or neg nodes? sorry I dont remember.
I wont lie to you and say that I feel fine..the meds have been tough on my body, I have some joint and muscle pain..but Im taking care of that the best I can with painkillers and pt. but, its okay...cause Im here and Im alive!! I do believe that when Im finished taking my AI. that I will feel much better. I keep up with the exercise..almost everyday..no matter what...and I think that is going to help me in the long run..I do still have fatigue, but JOJO I have just learned that I need to listen to my body, Ive slowed down my life, stop and smell the roses along the way..rest when I have to and Im okay with that..you do whatever gets you through!!

Hey there CJ,
How is everything going? I had surgery for my expanders on Wed 5th stayed in the hospital until Saturday. Still in pain go to doctors tomorrow for 1 week check. Hope to get these drains out. I was in extreme pain in the hospital. He expanded them some during surgery. Start radiation in October so trying to get these expanded. I don't think you said you had much pain. I have felt awful. Hopefully better soon. Very hard sleeping. I am taking my pain meds. Well I will probably be out of work for a couple of weeks. Talk to you soon, going to lay down. Hope everything is well with you and your family.
