About a month ago now I had my first herpies outbreak. Wich consisted of alot of sores and itching and burning. It was rather painful. I was currious to know if future out breaks will be the same as the initial one, or if they would not be as bad.
Also because I can't afford to go to the dr again for a while I was wondering if anyone knew if it was safe to take valtex during a pregnancy.

The first outbreak, is always the worse. Call your doctor about the Valtrex and pregnancy....The ob's do lessen with time and even become hardly noticably. I only get a tingle, pinch or a slight itch usually around that time of the month, but it is managable. I keep a spray bottle filled with regular peroxide, to blast the area, if the symptons start. It seems to stop the virus - dead in it's tracks!
Hoping something here was helpful. Hang in there -Ornament

If you are pregnant and have been diagnosed with HSV2, there are several modes of transmission where the infant may acquire the virus. It is rare for the infant to be infected before birth, i.e. congenital transmission. Usually it is transmitted during birth. And if you are having your first OB early in your prenancy, the risk of transmission is less than if your first OB is after 32 weeks. This may be due to immunity in the mother. Try to avoid the use of a fetal monitor, as the electrodes break the scalp of the fetus and increase the risk of infection. Infected infants are treated with acyclovir, so it's probably safe to take when pregnant.
