Are you sure, it's not just an ingrown hair bump or razor rash? I shave down below and get a few mini pink bumps, but usually if the razor is old. And I don't use that same razor, anywhere else on my body, for fear of herpes reinfection. throw out the razor! Hope this helped.....-Ornament

Since HSV2 is replicated predominantly in the cervix, I doubt that shaving is creating an outbreak. Depending on what kind of medical insurance you have, you could get a particular blister lanced and tested. That would tell you if it was HSV2 or just a razor pimple. However, that's a lot of time and effort. I believe that shaving is a good thing for keeping the area clean and free of virus particles and moisture. However, use one of those new multi-blade razors and don't skimp on new blades. I also use the little mini razors for the smaller areas and they seem to be a less irritating. If you follow shaving up with aloe gel, or a cream for bikini shaving, it will eliminate the pimples caused simply by shaving.

yeah, I'm not a newbie shaver... ;) I know the diff between shaving bumps and H blister. It's just weird that I haven't heard this topic and I seen to be the only one. Ah well...could be worse I guess. Thanks for the replies!

My very first outbreak was this strange looking blister that even the gyn said probably wasn't anything but a razor bump. But she said just to be sure she would lance it and send a specimen to the lab. It was HSV2 positive.
