A brief history: for almost a year now I've felt very sick, not so much like I am going to throw up, but more just like, gross in my entire digestive system. It is hard to eat in the mornings and as soon as I eat I have to go to the bathroom right away. It is often soft or loose stool. I have GERD and I have anxiety issues I guess, which explains some of the morning stuff.

More recently, I have had some abdominal pain, I can't tell if it is cramping or not. It is usually mid day at work, and I can usually attribute it to not eating since it is hard to figure out how to make eating regulary and working go together. I also have really bad gas. I could not eat for a day and I would still have it. It's embaressing and it makes it really hard to go places, especially since sometimes, even though it is just gas, I feel like it is going to be diarrhea and I am afraid to leave the house. It is basically ruining my quality of life.

This morning my stool had some red chunks in it. They looked like chunks, not liquid. Is that blood in my stool? The only thing noticable was that it was like, having gas and trying to go to the bathroom at the same time, so it felt very awkward coming out. I had some red peppers yesterday and I had vegtable cream cheese and watermelon, could any of those make for the red chunks?

Should I be worried? My therapist, my doctor and my parents aren't really concerned they think that I don't show any warning signs or whatever so it's not urgent. And while that is probably true, I'm miserable I cry all the time and my bowel issues are ruining my social life and my ability to have fun.

any ideas?

I would definitely say the red chuncks were from the peppers. Alot of times the body cannot digest things and they come out "whole". Another example would be peanuts and corn kernels. I have this happen all of the time, especially if I eat Italian, and even had some pink looking stools from eating a lot (about 1/2 of 5 lbs.) of watermelon one day. It is very scary but most of this stuff can usually be explained if you just look back on it.
Goodluck,
Davis
