Does anyone else get totally nauseated when eating sometimes??
Does anyone else get intensely itchy spots that get red & inflamed- appearing here & there(back of leg/face/anywhere else it pleases)????
Is a rhuematologist the best bet for proper diagnosis??
THANKS S.K.

I have had a rash that comes and goes whenever and wherever it wants most of the time I have had this - it is just another of the many symptoms that have added themselves to my life in the last few years.

Hi Mister
It sounds like you are having an reaction to something that you are eating. I had the same problem about 6 months ago, it seemed that everything that I ate I would break out in hives where I was really ichy, like little bites. I had it for about 4 months solid, it just about drove me crazy, then it just stopped again, never did fine out what it actually was. Try some antihistimines

Mister, that DOES sound like hives. They can be caused by food OR medication, even OTC meds. Also, you can have allergies from new cleaning or laundry products. Both my daughter and I have sensitivities. Common foods that cause hives are eggs, shellfish, chocolate, wheat products.

Well the good news is that I don't have hives! The bad news is that itchy/red spots are one of the symptoms I found on a list of FM symptoms. It's a checklist and there are like 64 symptoms listed-needless to say I checked almost all of them.
This is some crazy stuff......

Hi Mister, I would love to see the information on the spots, I just recently broke out in VERY itchy little spots. They are all over my body but very spread out. Since I don't know if it's against board rules to post the link for that site, would you mind emailing it to me? Click on the profile button on this post and you'll get my email address. Thanks!!!

Cioc1212-
I'm not the pro e-mailer but I'm sure I can figure it out-- just give me a little time >smile<
Anyway these spots drive me crazy- itch, scratch, itch, scratch!!! Sometimes my skin is bumpy,no itch or redness, kinda like little bites.
But when I get insanely itchy (usually back of calf-right leg or my face) I put tea tree oil on and it DOES help.
Keep an eye out for e-mail and I'll try to be faster than snail-mail!!!

I just got diagnose with Fibromyalgia today. I went on disability from work in October because of severe osteoarthritis. The rheumatologist never questioned the fact that I get more pain and exhaustion after exercise. With osteoarthritis the pain is supposed to decrease after the first 15 min. to 1/2 hour. My neck feels like it won't support my head--if I don't lye down,it's totally unbearable. I get the weird itcy rash-usually on the inside of my arm or leg. the head crawling, total horrible mind numbing exhaustion. muscle pain, memory problems--gee I could go on and on. Anyway,my Dr. told me that my symptoms have been bugging him. He went through my records, found an increased sed rate, low blood pressure--any kind of procedure I've had done has bottomed it out--also 14 pressure points out of the 18 or however many there are ( see memory loss)
While I'm not thrilled that I have this,I'm relieved that at least I know what it is now. I talked to my mom who has had a lot of these symptoms, she said my grandmother had them too. they were told it was neuralgia.
The Sr. put me on amytryptiline at bedtime. I start tonight. Funny thing is,my long term disability wants to deny my clainm due to a pre existing condition. I'm hoping that this diagnosis will chage that. What do you thik? Well, nice to meet everybody and thanks for listening to me ramble. Pat

Hi Pat and WELCOME! So sorry to hear about all the symptoms you're having, but glad you found us and glad you have a name for them all. I, too, have a history of this FM in my family -- mother, grandmother and daughter, now, too. Guess who else has nearly all the different symptoms, but not disabling (yet?), altho no dx? I am glad you are here. Several people at this site have experience dealing with disability, so maybe they will have some ideas for you. Welcome!
Val

Hi Pat and welcome! There is a good thread on Amitryptiline further down the board, it may be on p.2 by now. You may want to take a look. The amitryptiline sometimes has some side effects but don't get discouraged, they usually wear off in a couple of weeks. I was just diagnosed in Nov. and I was relieved too, happy to know I wasn't a crazy hypochondriac!!!!
