Its seven weeks since I had surgery for a broken ankle ( both sides ORF plates & screws). Have had the cast off for almost two weeks and am wondering if anyone knows the guidelines or advice for when I can drive again.
I asked the consultant who didn't answer me and I have asked my physio who says she will try to find out. ?? Nobody seems to know.

Hiya,
As far as I know`it depends on the person. If you gave good control and movement and strength in pointing your toe you should be fine. My physio has always been the one to give me the all clear to drive around the block and check it out. Always a bit nerve racking, but I've been fine each time. If you can drive around the block then should be fine otherwise...but long drives can be very tough until you have the strength. You certainly don't need to be 100% to drive. Sorry I couldn't be more specific...hope you can drive soon!

Thanks Happyfoot, I have had a quick whizz now and I seem ok. Like you say I think small journeys to start with and leave the longer ones for now until I get more strength.

Thanks again:)
