I had the elisa blood test for diagnosing food allergies and it said I had very high IgA reactions to eggs and whey. I was told to avoid these.

However, I just had the Immunocap allergy blood test for environmental and food allergies and it said i was nether allergic to eggs or whey.

These tests are only a yr apart, so i cant fig out why im all of a sudden not allergic to either or these.

it is normal for people to grow out of their allergies ranging from a year to 20 year period. if you were avoiding eggs and whey during the period between the tests and introducing these foods gradually back into your diet then this would also help. This is definately normal, you should be rejoicing :)

I was allergic to milk when i was a baby and grew out of it. it is only recently (2 years ago) that i have redeveleoped the allergy amongt many others...

Hope that helped,

L

Allergy tests can be IgE, IgG, or IgA. I am not familiar with the 2nd test that you spoke of. Which antibody does it test for?

the 2nd tested for IgE antibodies, and mine was only 68. i dont think that is too bad. The first test picks up IgE and IgA. Whey and eggs were high for IgA, but im unsure if IgA can be blamed for cause sinus/allergy issues.

This explains it then. You have IgA/IgG allergies not IgE. All of my daughter's food allergies were IgG and they were severe.
