Morning all.....Hubby settled a WC case in Oct '06 and that Dec won his SSD. Same attorney handled both. There is wording in his settlement papers for SSD stating how much would come out of each SSD check because of his WC settlement. Months after winning, getting his back pay and a couple of SSD chjecks he gets these papers in the mail saying that SSD thinks they overpaid him . Attorney gets a copy of the WC settlement that SSD already had and hubby signs and send sit in . Just received notice that hubby owes SSD not just his backpau but it looks like the part that his attoreny got. WHAT?????? It also says that if this is no fault of your own ( which obviously it isn't0 or if it would be a hardship to pay this back ( which it is) that he owes nothing. He intends to go down to the SS office in person , I think he should notify his attorney first. Any ideas?
