I wondered if anyone here has tried ginger supplements to help with the pain and stiffness. I KNOW it helps with ear problems and tinnitus (my ENT recommended it to me, and it helps!). I hadn't taken it for a while when it dawned on me that my achiness was more manageable when I was using ginger, so I've started taking it again.

I use Ginger in my cooking alot just because I like the flavor. I havent noticed any change in my pain level from it though.
I guess each of us may respond differently.
When I have a flare up nothing seems to help.

I was told by my doctor not to take any kind of herbal supplements because there have not been enough testing on the benefits or lack there of, or chemical interactions with my meds. A few years ago I took some ginko and had severe pains in my sides for several days. No definite reason was ever given for the reaction I had, only the possibility of bad drug interactions. I would take care when adding herbals to your diet.
I've eaten coated ginger for many years for my stomach. It use to help now, I just like to eat it.

If it's coated with chocolate I might try it.......
Seriously, what is it coated with and where do you get it?? How do you know how much to eat?
I'm new to all this health food/supplement stuff so I'm just curious, my IB problems are much better with the flax seed oil.

I'd LOVE to know where to get chocolate-covered ginger, too. I just take the ginger capsules that my doctor recommended (they have it at just about any drugstore). The only problem I have with it is occasional indigestion - but nothing a Tums won't fix. I've heard good things about flax seed oil from other people too - I'll ask my doctor if he thinks it would be ok for me to try that too!

Yes, chocalate and powdered sugar. Good for stomach problems. Try gingerale. My father sends it. Garlic is also good for you. I use a lot of it daily in cooking.
