I began having chronic diarrhea on July 5th. Thought it was in response to all the eating on the 4th, but it didn't go away. 3 weeks later I went to doc and he suspected diverticulitis and wanted to start 2 strong antibiotics. I requested testing instead. A cat scan was approved and though the colon came out rather clean, it showed nodules on lungs, uterine fibroids and a very small cyst on liver. Chest cat scan shows nodules are okay and I will have an ultra sound next week on uterus.

I will see a gastrointernologist tomorrow and wonder what to expect, what to request, ask? I have colon cancer history on both sides of family but apparently cat scan came back only showing a bit of gastritis.

Sometimes I'm up in the night several times with D. I do notice that popcorn causes immediate symptoms. Usually I just have frequent trips to bathroom, watery or loose stools, gassy, mucousy... but two nights ago I had the cramping, straining, then diarrhea and ended up with more hemmorhoids. This happens occasionally as well.

Other health issues: had lyme disease diagnosed in late '04 and was antibiotics for 11 months. Took probiotics faithfully. Adrenals and thyroid were affected but not successfully treated till just last month. Diarrhea started 3 days before seeing doc for endocrine issues. Now on Cortef and Armour thyroid. Feeling much better other than diarrhea.

Any input would be appreciated... cj
