Boy, talk about conflict! This post was on Oprah petition site:
<<Please DO a well educated & informative show on CFS & FMS, but please DO
NOT get caught up in the Guaifenasen theory! If all we needed was
Guaifenasen, we would all be cured, and the need for such a show wouldn't
exist. This illness goes way beyond needing a bit of Guaifenasen. I have
been hosting a weekly online mutual support chat for sufferers of CFS & FMS
for over 3 years, & i've heard from people all over the U.S. and in other
countries as well, and these illnesses have robbed the life right out of so
many who are crying out for help. Please, before so many others resort to a
path of suicide, assist in educating people on what is already known about
CFS & FMS - and encourage further research so that these lives can be
restored, not lost.>>
And then this was posted from a person taking guai on a different site tonight:
<<Last August I gave everyone an update on my 2 year anniversary on the
protocol and told you how much I had improved. I just had to let everyone
know that now not only have I been able to go back to my aerobic exercise,
and hiking, which is a major accomplishment, but last week I went Skiing!!
This is the one thing that I have not been able to do in years and was what
triggered my futile Dr. search to find out what my problem was. The pain in
my hips, legs, feet, etc., not to mention the fatigue, made skiing out of the
question. Last week I cried with joy to be able to spend all day on the
slopes and just feel a nice normal tired like I did before. The last time I
tried, 4 years ago, I cried because I could not make it down one slope and my
husband had to help me.>>
go figure...
