Has anyone heard of this condition? A friend told me that a relative of hers has been diagnosed with this. I searched it on the internet and everything it described sounded like what I experience, for example cramping, gas, bloating, need to go to the bathroom during or right after a meal.

Thats me! Everytime I eat...within a half hour I gotta go. I swear if I just THINK about eating I have to go. I'm gonna have to search that and read up. I'm just now back to "normal" after acute diverticulitis and peritonitis, a temp colostomy and reversal. I want to make sure it won't happen again, so I need to learn all I can about my "system".;)

I have also read that it frequently starts to affect people who have had surgery on their GI system like gallbladder removal, and especially the type that you have had. From what I've read so far, some of the recommendations it makes for dealing with it are to eat smaller meals six times a day instead of three large meals, and to drink beverages between meals instead of with them.

I know about it a little, and had my galbladder removed last May, and it helped me alot to actually have my stomach empty faster. Another condition very close to that, that is actually misdiagnosed alot is Diabetic Gastropareisis. There is a drug called Reglan that actually helps to slow this down in patients that already have this problem, and in ones that dont have it, it actually speeds it up. Its recommended only for 12 weeks at a time, but read up on it and see what you can find, and maybe you can determine wether or not it will help you.
