What is the best medicine to take for OCD? I have been on antidepressants for a long time and it helps alittle, but I still have some OCD. I am thinking that there isn't any kind of medicine that will help OCD 100 percent, but I could be wrong. I would like to hear from others who take medicine for their OCD and how much does it help?

I don't know that there is any 'best' medicine for OCD or depression for that matter as they all work differently for each of us. I would suggest that you consult your MD or psychiatrist and let them know that the medicine that you are taking for your depression is not helping your OCD. They may choose to adjust your dose (how long have you been on it?), add one, or try something new altogether. Good luck!

Medicine alone will definitely not help OCD. It helps in reducing the amount of anxiety you feel (and helps with depression), but it does not get rid of the obsessive thoughts. The best treatment for OCD is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). This kind of therapy actually changes your thought-processes to more adaptive ones. I would recommend that in conjunction with your medication that you find a psychologist who specializes in CBT.
