I've only been on nuvaring for a few months and was just wondering if anyone else has had uncomfortable times during sex. I had really uncomfortable pressure the entire time. I figure I'll get used to it over time, but its just really odd for now. I'd really appreciate any responses. I'd really like to stay on nuvaring because it is so easy to take & stay on..

Hi, I was on Nuvaring for 3 years & had no problems during sex. Have you tried different positions? Does your partner feel the ring?

I was on the Nuvaring for probably a year or so and I loved it because I had no side effects. The only problem I had was the pain it caused for me when I had sex. The ring would not sit in my body comfortably, it would push against one spot in my body 24hrs/day all the time therefore making that spot sore and making sex uncomfortable/painful. That is why I stopped using it. The pain and soreness takes a long time to go away, but it does gradually fade. Seems there is always a catch to a birth control.

Have you tried taking the ring out when you have sex and then put it back in? This is what I always do and I do not have a problem.

That wouldn't solve the problem of the ring not sitting comfortably in me. Because the ring is constantly pushing against one spot all the time whether I am having sex or not, it causes a soreness which is agravated when I have sex.
