Hi, tms. I'm from Connecticut, too. I have simple partial seizures, and I am able to drive. The only time I wasn't able to drive was after I had a gran mal seizure back in January, 2001. After my med levels straightened out and I'd been without a conscoiusness-altering seizure for a certain amount of time, I was able to drive again. Well, that was only on my doctor's opinion. My first neuro never reported me to the DMV, so I'm not sure how long I would have been legally unable to drive. But my second neuro a few years later did report me to the state, and now I have a checkup every 6 months where my neuro has to fill out a form for the DMV about my current state with seizures, his opinion on whether it's safe for me to drive, and bloodwork results.

I still drive, but only on days when I feel up to it- and I can tell the difference between a "stay home" day and a "ok to go short distances" day fairly soon after I get up. I don't go more than 3 miles from home anyway,so I'm generally in areas where I can easily pull over- never had to , though, since I don't go out if there's even a question.
