I was just thinking ahead for my next bunionectomy, and wondering if anyone knows if an aircast is more comfortable than the fiberglass cast that they custom build on your foot in the cast room.

Sponsor relteach 08-16-2007, 10:17 PM I have had both and I personally was more comfortable in the aircast. I was able to take it off to bathe and sleep, so that was definitely better than the fiberglass cast. If you are given a choice, I'd go with the aircast. Just make sure that they fit you in the right size so that your toes don;t stick our the end or it may be uncomfortable when time comes for weightbearing. monster bunion 08-17-2007, 11:32 AM Thanks relteach, I'll ask my podiatrist if I can have the aircast on my next bunionectomy. I don't know why they didn't give me the option in the first place, probably because it's more expensive. |
