For those who have tried this diet, did you first try meds? Did they not work and that's why you tried the diet? This is interesting.

cl84 08-17-2007, 04:48 PM For those who have tried this diet, did you first try meds? Did they not work and that's why you tried the diet? This is interesting. Sponsor Red60 08-19-2007, 07:38 PM I only tried the PPI for a very short period of time about 2 weeks. I just didn't feel right when I was using them and it felt like the food was just sitting in my stomach forever. I also wasn't crazy about the idea of using a med forthe rest of my life that interfered with nutrient absorption. itburns2004 08-22-2007, 04:20 PM Ive been on meds for 12 years for the belly-they wear off and I am a mess now. There are gerd diets! Very low carb diets. I saw a nutritionist and she went over it with me-wowow it is hard! The reason for the low carb is it is a yeast theory so you know. carbs produce yeast...yeast produces reflux-that is the theory. I have heard so many variants and tricks. I have heard of eating a granny apple or a yellow delicious apple. There are so many theories! I even heard of using apple cider vinegar a half an hour before each meal. The alt. theory is too little acid? I am so confused by all this! I would begin if I could go back 12 years at a nutritionist, and take it from there. Also, enzymatic therapies make a pearl acidopholis that is noted in many journals as a very good acidopholis to take. That is really all I know. |
