View Full Version : Ovulation Test - slightly confused...

I think I get this test, but... just want to see if how I view it is making sense.

I bought one of the ovulation kits, the first two days the 2nd test line was lighter than the main line, then yesterday the lines were the same color - so I thought that meant I was ovulating either right then or very soon (??). Today I took the test again (just to see what happened lol) and the test line came up MUCH bolder than the main line it's supposed to match. So... uh, what does this mean?

Does it mean yesterday was indicating I'm 'about' to ovulate, and the darker line today means I 'am' ovulating?

Argh all this figuring out to do :P

The reason I ask is because I'm about to enter a 2wwp; and my husband went out of town Thursday and won't be back until Monday.

We did bd late Wednesday night, so I guess technically there could still be a shot (if sperm really does live roughly 3 days...?) if I ovulated yesterday or today. If I don't ovulate until TOMORROW, we still have a small window too - because he's back Monday mid-day and we might still catch the tail end if you know what I mean.

Yes, I'm obsessing... can anyone give me some insight? Does the super darker line mean I'm ov'ing today?!

AHH! :)

I Never used an ovulation kit before but did just buy one to use for this time - if I am not preg..(which I don't think I am)..It said to use the stick and test with urine on it and when you get a smile face, to bd b/c that day and the next day are my 2 most fertile days.. I think after those days you ovulate?? Not sure about when you ovulate but it igives you the fertile days to bd right before ovulating i think....

Oooh!! I just found this online:

"Ovulation tests detect the LH surge, allowing you to accurately predict when you will ovulate. A positive result on an ovulation test means that the woman will most likely become fertile over the next three days - with peak fertility at 36 hours following the LH surge."

That's GREAT news :D Haha, in theory?! I think that means I'll be most furtile Sun/Monday, and Monday is when he is back. If it's 36 hours past yesterday... that means we could still be in the game this month :) If it's 36 from today we're totally still 'game on' for this month, too. Hmm! If that information is correct then I'm really excited right now ^_^

I've heard that those sticks predict o between 12 and 48 hours so I think you're in good shape! You should definitely bd asap when your dh gets home! Good luck!!!
