Now 1 dpo. Not hopeful at all this month, as dh and I only bd'ed two days before and the day of ovulation. Had a fight the day before ovulation and by the time we'd made up, it was 2 AM and we were too tired to do anything other then sleep. :(
I'm not going to bother testing unless AF is late this month. This is month 5 ttc for us, and it's really starting to get to me. I started bawling one night because I hate the cycle of excitement, then wondering, then utter disappointment each month.
I know it takes a while, but still.
Oh well, next month if we conceive it would be kinda perfect -- we'd reach 12weeks right at Christmas time, so an ultrasound pic would be an AWESOME way to tell family! Once we've conceived, we have decided not to tell anyone until we're 12 weeks, not even our families. Because if we tell them, no matter what we say, they'll tell EVERYONE they know, and if God forbid we miscarry, then we'll have all these people we barely know coming up to us in grocery stores expecting us to discuss it with them.
Anyhow, who else is in the 2ww? Anyone else on 1 dpo?

Either today or tomorrow is 1dpo for me... hard to tell w/ the ovulation test lol. Hubby left on Thursday for a backpacking trip w/ boys, so .. unless we lucked out and his stuff is still thriving today as I'm ovulating I don't think we made it this month :( He won't be back until Monday night so...
If you did it two days before ov like I did - we both have similar odds - it's not completely off the chart unbelievable, especially if sperm can live up to 3 days inside you. Just means it could've been waiting in the tube for the egg. Like a delivery service ^_^ Haha. You never know... that's the only place I'm getting hope from. You don't only have to bd ON the day of ovulation, you have a few buffer days right? I mean.. it's about a 5 day "more fertile" time, and 2 days before and after ovulation totally keep your odds in check.
So who knows... I just started my 2ww too... so we can be in this annoying cycle together, and if not... well we can hope for a fun christmas-time 'surprise' gift for the families... yeah?
Good luck for both of us :)

SAME HERE!!! I HOPE YOUR MEN HAVE SUPER SUPER SWIMMERS, LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have ovulation kit too for this coming month...i read instructions, it said once you get the signal that you are fertile, you should BD on that day and next day...my DR. also said we could BD every day from day 10-22 which i think i might due also... b/c i am sooo afraid to miss things..lol...maybe i should just BD the whole month every day, NO i am kidding, I think that makes the little guys less strong and A HUSBAND WHO WILL MOST LIKELY THINK I AM CRAZY..LOL But, i think a few days before you ovulate is when you should BD... so you girls should be right on target!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that is what the ovulation kit says too and if you go to some websites ( I know I can't write them on here, but ****** ovulation calender) it says the same!!!!!!

Hi girls! I'm not quite in my 2ww but I'm charting this month so I'm really hoping that it will show when I ovulate. So far not a lot of action on the chart but I am just starting to get cm so keeping my fingers crossed that my temp skyrockets so it's bloody obvious! DH and I leave for vacation on Wednesday so I'm hoping we can bd for the next 3 nights before we leave to stockpile some little guys whenever that o day may come. Keeping my fingers crossed that it's before Thursday!
Good luck to everyone - and I am going to try not to test until the day af is expected. It's going to take some major willpower!!

Can't wait to commiserate w/ the rest of you TTC ladies during the 2ww... if you know what I mean haha.

Hey ladies.....I'm in my 2ww also so I thought I'd chime in. I'm about 5 dpo with AF due on the 30th. I'm also not holding out much hope for this month. DH and I only bd 2-3 times around o. I just keep remembering that it only takes once!

JuneBug - that is true, my hubby keeps telling me that, hey you think people get pregnant by 5 different days..lol... it is true.. it is that 1x... but it is hard to think that way especially when you want to be pregnant so bad. I want to be pregnant sooo bad that I can cry when I see a baby on TV...LOL then I laugh bc i know it will happen.......good luck all...still no AF, day 34 of cycle.. tests were bFN..... still hopefull until AF is here....

I'm not due until sometime between 8/30 - 9/1. Depending on my cycle, normaly it's 29 days, but last month it was 31. So that's the range... we'll see what happens. I'm trying not to focus too much on being tired, or crampy (or gasy LOL) since it could be totally random. I did that too much last time and it got downright annoying. Hopefully by this time next week I'll feel different than usual @_@

No wonder we are having no success. Im not pleased with the odds, but I guess 2 is better than zero. Here's to another couple weeks of waiting! I think I'm around 7-8dpo now, not feeling particularly different or anything - making a very valid effort to not think of every little stomach cramp or sore back in the morning as "OMG I'M PREGNANT FOR SURE!" Haha. It's hard once you realize you focus waaayy too much on every little symptom that could literally mean nothing - other than you just didn't every obsess about your body for a period of time before TTC ;)
I expect by Wednesday to start feeling my normal period-esque stuff, so we shall see. I hope to have some idea by Saturday of next week.
Sheesh... so much waiting - this week actually went by pretty fast though!

I was having some really bad cramps earlier this week, and now they are gone so maybe we missed it, if not, we will try bding for a few more days just to play it safe. I usually get AF on around the 8th so we'll see what happens. All I know is that my nipples are realllly sore, and I have had to pee alot for the last couple of weeks. Im sure its nothing, just me worrying myself!

Okay so this is interesting :) somewhere around 8 - 10dpo at this point... feeling a little blah this morning (a lump in my throat, I guess you could call it nausea, or too much coffee? I only get one small cup a day... so this is new). Warm, slept horribly last night (too hot).
But this is interesting.. I had a TON of ewcm this morning... but I know for sure I've already ovulated (used the kit - this was about a week ago?). I'm due to start my period (or hopefully not) late this week - why am I having tons of CM this morning...? Is that odd? Anyone experienced this before? I think this mornings cm (I know.. tmi) was actually MORE than when I ovulated.
What's up with that?! I had two sharp cramps this morning before I got up... a wee bit early (imo) for period cramps. Normally I won't get those until the day before or the day I'm getting a visit from AF.
Anyone know what's going on? The CM is weird ... kind of throwing me off.

Since when is ANYTHING TMI when TTC? LOL We talk about our cervixes, our cervical mucus, how much we've bd'd lately, whether or not our boobs are sore...LOL it amazes me how when trying to get pregnant, it's totally okay to talk about these things. :D

08-28-2007, 10:20 AM
Hahaha.....I completely agree Daisies, there is never TMI when on a TTC board. As for me, only 5dpo, so not much going on. I had some cramping this morning on my left side, not enough to really hurt, but enough to be a bit uncomfortable. Only lasted about an hour or two. Good luck to anyone who is due/testing this week - I still have quite a ways to go!

Well... the CM was like 2 days after the last bd... that seems a little late to 'leak' doesn't it? Plus it was the ew consistancy, and doesn't have that male-stuff smell to it (You ALL know what I'm talking about lol... sulfuric almost?!). It didn't really have any smell at all. Weird.
Thank goodness there IS a place you can get this graphic or we'd never be able to explain anything to eachother :P
I'm about .. I don't know - 10 - 11dpo now? Maybe 12? Either way... set to start Thursday at the earliest or Saturday at the latest (29 or 31 day cycle options since that's all I've had). Problem is most of the things I'm feeling can pretty easily be shrugged off as period-esque. Isn't that the evil thing about TTC and pregnancy syptoms? About 90% of the 'symptoms' most women would think were their AF coming anyway! Not fair :)
Yesterday was probably the most bleh, kinda off balance - I've been beyond warm every night when trying to sleep (I feel like I'm super-heated... had to have hubby open the sliding door last night and leave about 85% of my body OUT from under the blanket @_@ it only got up to maybe 70 degrees yesterday and was probably in the mid to high 60's in my bedroom, which isn't terribly warm to me...). That's been the biggest thing.. the past two nights I've just been wayyyy too warm to sleep comfortably. Very draggy/tried - but probably cause of that.
Sigh. Over analyzing... the next few days are going to be torture :)

Sorry for the additional post - but this morning, same time as yesterday basically, I had another bathroom break with a whole bunch of ewcm!
I know I'm not OV ... and read recently online that increased discharge can be a sign typically because the cervix is plugging up from infection and the increased CM is a sign of it pushing things out to do this?!
Weird. I wonder if I've just never noticed this being a typical monthly thing around AF time for me or if this is really out of the ordinary. I don't really recall ever seeing this much before?

Destea,
Could you have o'ed twice this month? I had no idea that this was possible til a doctor friend recently told me. Baby dust to you!!
Hey ladies! I am just beginning the bms for this month so I am more like 3 weeks waiting :-) My plan is every other day til my af shows up. My husband is beyond happy! LOL
Last month I seriously thought I was preggers in every single way. I cramped 11 days after o, I had heartburn which I've never had in my life, I was mono-like exhausted, boobs were super-sore, my period was missing, I kept obsessively testing and getting negatives, my brain was foggy, I had terrible headaches, stomach making weird noises, food cravings etc. And then AF reared her ugly head.
I guess what I am trying to say is that until the test says positive I will not believe it. And I also know now to try my best to not think about it until my af is late. Last month was tough because I told all my g-friends "I really think I am pregnant!!!". I feel kind of silly, like everyone thinks I am NUTS! I also will not tell people that I think I am anymore until I know for sure by way of the test. I ordered ones online that were super cheap and test at a lower hcg level. Soooo, that is my plan anyway :-)
It helps that we can chat on this board.
Baby Dust to all the ladies!

Wow interesting, I had never heard of people o'ing twice a month! I guess that's something to consider :) Although the cm has been around over 24 hours now. Hmm! I've been reading up online and it does sound like it's one more of a million possible symptoms - but you're right. Definitely don't want to jump the gun. I'm avoiding the tests like a plague until this Sunday IF (big if) I haven't seen AF yet ... good luck everyone (still) ;) Next 4 days are going to be draagggggy.

Well, my temp didn't go back up today...it is still above coverline, but closer to it then I'd like....so I think I'm out this month. What's worse, I think my Luteal Phase is short this month, 11 days instead of 13. *sigh*
Now I can get my shoulder shot, at least! Still, I was hoping I wouldnt be able to, and that this would be "our" month.
Damn this is hard, month after month. A girl I know just got her bfp and she only started trying in June!! Wasn't even charting.
It's so hard to stay objective and not feel jealous...as happy as I am for those who do get their bfp, I'm ashamed to say that part of me is like "No fair!"

I have never heard of ovulating 2x in a month. Is that like one ovary releases an egg and then the other one has a delayed release? I have heard of releasing more than one egg (twins, right?) but never at different times of the month. That was my "learned something new today". I am only 6dpo, and for some reason, my temp spiked up another .7 degree. Coverline is 96.6, then after O it was around 97.2 for 5 days, then this am, it was 97.9. Has anyone ever had a major spike like that? I read that if your temp drops for a day, it could be an implantation sign, but I cant seem to find anything about a temp spike during luteal phase. Guess I will just have to wait and see what it looks like tomorrow.

I read a little more on this... we can have different 'waves' of ovulation, in that our body may try - but we're too stressed, so we get the symptoms but an EGG doesn't actually drop, so then the body will do another wave a week or two later and an egg will drop (which is what can cause a delayed period.. and double CM months...).
Interesting, huh?
Still.. this is the 4th day in a row I've had noticebly more ewcm - even when I'm O'ing it usually lasts only a day - MAYBE 2 max O.o And actually it's not even normally quite as heavy (rather - as much... it's .. gross, but slimy and abundant - total egg-whites style).
Weird.

Destea, what CD are you on? Have you been temping or anything? Because I have heard that CM increases as you are pg.....
Also, after I posted yesterday about the high temp, I took some time to read more, and it is actually called a "triphasic" phase, but only when your temps stay up. Today was up again. Could be a sign of implantation, or could be nothing. I hate that sites will never give you clear definitive answers....so still, the wait continues.

I haven't been temping, I felt really warm 3 nights in a row (and couldn't sleep as a result.. huff >:\ ) but today I feel a little more regular. My face gets pretty hot each mid-morning around 9 - 10am, but nothing super crazy.
Yesterday at my kickboxing class I had to take like 4 breaks, I was beat... normally I don't have to stop at all! I'm going to feel really lame if I'm just super wimpy cause of AF coming :P

Hello girls! It's the first time all week I've had a proper internet connection and it feels good to rejoin the boards! I am 7 dpo today and am not overwhelmed with symptoms but I think it would be hard to tell because I'm on vacation. I'm tired every night but I think that's from all the walking vs. being a symptom. I had an upset stomach yesterday but not convinced that's anything. The only big symptom I've had is that I've had to pee all the time!! Quite annoying in a city on holiday. DH has been very understanding. I am going to test at 9dpo and again at 10dpo because we're supposed to do another training run and I don't think I should if I'm pg. I really hope this is the month - if it is, it means we conceived in the UK which would be super cool for us.
Wishing everyone baby dust who's testing over the weekend! I'll be able to post my results at 10dpo so send some my way too.
Oh before I forget - I had ewcm today too, Destea! Not a lot but I thought it was strange! Here's hoping for it being good news for both of us!

Yes! Fingers crossed saw...
I'm on the 5th day in a row now if seeing ewcm... I took a test (LOL *ducks under scrutiny*!!) and got a negative but it could easily be too early (13dpo, probably, still could be 3 days before period, I have a weird range of 29 - 32 days so... I'll try again Sunday if no sign of AF). If not.. oh well, next month? I still wonder about this ewcm :P

So I was feeling encouraged when I tested yesterday but got a BFN. No big deal, I thought, it's only 9dpo. Then, we went to the airport to begin a long day of travel home and af arrived. 3 days early!!! I am pretty bummed. At 8dpo I had some very light brown "spotting" when I wiped which I thought could be implantation related because since I've been off the patch I haven't had a cycle shorter than 30 days. Well this one was only 27!
I'm disappointed of course, but at least I've got DH understanding now that he needs to know when I o too - I have a feeling we'll be stepping it up in the bd department in the next few months so everyone will win. :)
Trying to stay positive, at least I only wasted one test!

Hi to all the ladies out there!
Destea- is the cm still happening? You'll have to keep us updated!
This is my week to bd every other day. I am not temping so I don't know the exact o date but I chart on a web site and supposedly it the the 6th that I o. DH and I were thinking since we don't know for sure then we'll bd every other this week.
On a light note, I went to this psychic this weekend (cheesy, I know, but she is amazing) and she said September is going to be my month. I sure hope that she is right. She also told me that my dh needs to start taking the folic acid too, not just me, while ttc because it makes his sperm healthier? Of course I called dh immediately and told him to start!! LOL
Just thought I'd pass this along. Could be false but I think anything is worth trying! :-)

Welp.. lol, I've had two 'BFN' tests over the last 3 days, but I'm officially 2 days past my longest cycle at this point (CD 33.. 29 used to be my longest, 31 recently... now this!).
Not really sure what's up at this point, I guess I could've tested slightly too early (the tests I took say it had to be the day that my period was due but who KNOWS when that is at this point :P)
CM subsided finally after 7 days! Weird! I'll keep ya updated!

Hi ladies.....
12dpo today......BFN! I have a 16-day luteal phase, and my temps are up, then down, then up.....may be too early still, but I used a really sensitive test, so dont think this is my month. My mom thinks I am being too scientific about the whole TTC thing (with watching cm and temping) and says that I just need to stop stressing over it and let it happen naturally. I understand what she is saying, however do not agree....my point of view is that I am just "helping to speed up the process". Oh well.
How is everyone else doing? Did anyone test this weekend??

It could be too early, huh? I did read on a few sites that some people won't show positive on a test until 3 weeks after conception (can take that long until the hormone produces enough in some women to show up on the test). 1-3 weeks, is the supposed range, but again... who knows :)
I'm on CD 34 now. Nada yet. I'm going to wait until Thursday (if AF doesn't show.. she probably will I guess??) to test again. Honestly... I'm just telling myself at this point my cycle has suddenly decided to go WACKO since previously it'd only ever been 29 days *shrug?!*. I certainly don't have any symptoms to speak of at this point. I think I probably would by now, eh?
But it would be pretty cool if it's not here by thursday and by some random shot I get a BFP - the 7th is DH's 35th b-day; would be fun to tape a positive test inside his card to open over our nice dinner ;)

I will be starting tomorrow night to use ovulation kit... last AF date was 8/24...tom.. is 13 days but it will have to be 1:30am so really thur. 14 days later, b/c hubby gets home late from work....I still think that may be way too early to test b/c my cycle is anywhere from day 30-38...

sixela - going to the psychic doesnt sound weird at all!! I hope September really is your month!! Im crossing my fingers for you!! I think Im going to have my hubby start taking folic acid too! haha what can it hurt?!
Destea - wow girl, your period is really late! Ive read that when its harder for some women to concieve it can be just as hard to tell when you actually get pg. Hopefully you get your BFP and it is just taking time to get your HCG levels up!! Good luck! Baby Dust!! Baby Dust!!
purplegirl - Im glad that you are starting to use an ovulation kit. They are soo helpful! It will really help you understand your cycle alot more...plus you cant help but get excited when you see that your LH levels are up!!
As for me, Im on cd4 and started clomid today (100mg). Its my first cycle, so hopefully it'll work and I dont have to do it again!!
Good luck ladies!
 Sending lots and lots of baby dust your way!!

Good luck w/ the clomid kayce, and the ovulation test kit purple :)
I'm on CD35 .. still not a whisper from AF. Very weird. Still no symptoms tho, either, so I'm still just assuming I'm late. Very late sheesh. I'm going to do a final test tomorrow, because Friday is DH's birthday and if we're going to a nice restuarant and I have a BFN I can go ahead and share a bottle of wine w/ him to celebrate ;) We shall see! Last test was 4 days ago... so *shrug*?

I did a test yesterday and it was BFN so I think Im out for this month. I really hope you all get BFP's soon.

Hey Amy
Thanks for your kind words but I feel like AF is coming, I went for appt with infertility specialist last week and he said to skip the IUI and said we can go straight for IVF as the chances of conception is so much higher I think he said 40% chance per cycle, so thats a relief. He doesnt believe in making people do the whole IUI, thinks its such a waste of time.
How are you doing? Hope you are doing well.

Well thats good news......you are getting closer to your bfp. So do you have an idea when you are going to start the IVF journey? Will it be covered by insurance? I can imagine it s not an easy journey but i am sure it will be worth it.......keep that in mind.
I am doing fine........i am around 15 weeks along and keeping my fingers crossed that things will keep on going smoothly.
Wishing you all the very best

Just took another test since I'm 8 days late for my normal cycle, and 5 days later than my last cycle.
BFN.
Can my AF please show up already, then? I'm already disappointed enough, it'd be frickin' nice if it could start so I can at least get this new cycle going and give it another shot.
Blah. :(

Destea, I am so sorry. AF came early for me this month and my first thought was "oh, well, at least I can get on with next month." Hang in there, your body supposedly knows what's best so maybe this is lining up some good timing for the future.

Amy it's good to hear you're doing well! Thanks for stopping by!
Cashahn, I wanted to let you know that I'm temping now and I too am addicted. It's amazing!

I was wondering if anyone on here remembers the post back awhile ago about ovulation pains? I remember someone saying that when you have the pains that means that you have already ovulated. I have a 26 day cycle like clockwork and I know that I ovulated last month on cd12, so this cycle we are bd'ing every other day which would have fallen on last night (cd12) and this evening (cd13) i'm having some pains on my right side. It makes me want to bd tonight too but I know that every night lowers the sperm count! We did that last month and it didn't work! I'm not having alot of cm this month so i'm a little confused. So just wondering if anyone remembers that post!! Sorry to be so long....

Bama, I say go for it! I read that sperm is sperm and you should bd every day to increase your chances. Sure, the sperm count may be lower for that shot, but in the end it means there are more spermies chasing down that egg so it increases your chances overall.
Destea

I did read in a book recently that actually the 'lowered' sperm count by doing it every night is relatively insignificant - there are still MILLIONS in each shot, lol. So you should be fine :) I had a friend recently who tried for 6 months, went to the doctor and he told the couple to just have sex every other day for the entire month (that way you're sure you don't miss ovulation) sure enough.. she's pregnant after the 1st month of doing that :)
Ugh I think I'd get worn out! HAHA

Destea,
Sounds promising!!!
Hi to all the ladies in the 2 ww. I am now in mine. Today is my last fertile day but I have also practiced the "every other day bd method" since my last period on the 22nd. I guess we feel like we are hard-core "trying" and not leaving it up to chance. (I know this is no guarantee either way but it sure helps to feel like you are doing your best- that is the dorky overachiever in me).
It also helps to have your mind on something else. I have started a small online biz (for fun and a teeny second income) and that has kept me busy so that I am not obsessing about every little boob soreness or stomach gurgle.... LOL. I made myself insane last month!!
Well, here's to patience for the next 2 weeks. Hope everyone is doing well. :-)
Six:D
PS Kaycie, I love your visual of everyone having a cyber pj party! That's awesome :-)

Sixla I've heard every other day for a whole month is ABSOLUTELY going to increase your odds.. this should definitely help.. can't wait to hear, good luck everyone in the new 2ww :D
LOL... well, I think because most of the things I've read say most doctors prefer to wait until you're at least 14 days late to do the full blood test thing, which I guess I can understand. Plus I'm afraid of a negative (or making the appointment then starting like.. THAT NIGHT you know?). I figure if I'm 2 weeks late that's a little more uncommon than say... 7 - 10 days.. yeah?
I'll give her a call on Wednesdsay if I can stand it :) I might try one more test before I call though, who knows :| I'm not really having any symptoms other than being exhausted but that could be because my systems all apparently out of whack. I guess i'm trying to convince myself I'm NOT pregnant, just so I won't be disappointed if I'm just ridiculously late.
Thanks for the support, I'll call on Wednesday to set up an appointment if that annoying aunt of mine declines to show up ;)
