I have been with my fiance for about 2 years. We are absolutely monogamous. We moved in together shortly after we started dating. However, while we were at his parents' house, I was looking in his top dresser drawer in his old room and I came across a prescription for aldera (imiquimod) for him dated three months before we started having sex.
I panicked, but I felt guilty about snooping so I didn't bring it up with him. I have had my normal pap smears and pelvic exams since then and everything has been normal. However I am concerned about what this means, besides that whenever I have an itch I start to panic.
I would appreciate your help in what I should do next and what this means in terms of my sexual health. Thanks.

oops, you have to ask him. If you don't want to tell him that you acidentaly ran across the prescription, ask him if he ever had herpes or what kind of STD has he ever had.
I think Aldera is prescribed to those with genital hepres, and sometimes to those that have warts caused by HPV. Either way, you are right to be concerned.
Neither heprex simplex nor HPV are fully discharged by the body, only supressed by the immune system. That means, that it would be safe for you to do a HPV DNA test and check if you have that.
Also, keep in mind that HPV might cause changes to your cervix much much later in life, even 10 or 15 years later, so always follow up with yearly PAP.

I would just be honest and tell him what happened, or ask first and see what his response is and then tell him. You definitely have a right to know. From what I've read it's a cream for genital warts.
Like the other poster said, always make sure you get your yearly pap. I've been monogamous for over 12 years and had an abnormal pap due to HPV about 2 years ago. I never realized it could stay dormant that long!
Good luck!
