View Full Version : Possible colon problem

Hi everyone. I admit that I am not one to go to doctors regularly. I have coronary artery disease and have been on six different medications for a very long time.

For the last year or so, I noticed that I have not had a firm stool, and there is sometimes rectal blood, but not often. I first attributed it to medication, but my MI was almost 10 years ago and have been on same medication for many years. I saw a GI at my cardiologist's suggestion, and am scheduled for a colonoscopy Sept. 14th.

I'm wondering if anyone has had these symptoms and what the outcome was. I sometimes go to the bathroom 15 times a day, with just droplets, and if ever semi-firm, just pencil thin.

Any research I've done suggests colorectal cancer, which does not please me in the least. Any advice?

I had a similar problem until I started using Psyllium. I was also going to the toilet about 15 times a day with small pellet like stools. I only go about 3 or 4times a day now. I had a colonoscopy and hemorrhoidectomy done two years ago. Nothing was found during the colonoscopy and I was really well until 6 months after the hemorrhoidectomy when all my old symptoms reappeared, together with a continuos need to go to the toilet, hence the 15 times a day story. I will be going back to another doctor for re-investigation because I feel that I still go to the toilet too frequently and if it wasn't for the Psyllium I would not be able to cope.
