have any of you tried lexapro and how did it work for you? I have tried celexa (20mg) for 8 weeks, got cravings for alcohol, and hot flashes. Too sedating so I went off. Tried 10 mg for 2 weeks, not much problem but felt better so went off. Now I am really down again and my dr wants me to try lexapro. Said it is less sedating. I hear about weight gain and can not afford to gain weight. Any help would be appreciated. Godbless:angel:

No,no,no,no to Lexapro!!!!!!
I gained 35 pounds in 2 months on the stuff. I sent a nasty letter to
that manufactuer about what they say "about possible weight gain" from taking it. Possible???? try 35 pounds in 2 months.
I'm on Wellbutrin XL 300 mg and doing wonderfull on it.

Start the Lexapro VERY slowly, 2.5mg for a week, then 5mg for a week, then 7.5mg for a week, and finally tenmg. Ten may be all that you need.,
And NO, not everyone gains weight, you have to watch what you eat anyway, and exercise, at least walk a lot. Drink a LOT of water, and take 1200mg of Omega 3 fish oil, it helps a lot.
I lost weight on it, it affects everyone differently.
