Hello everyone! I would like to add 500mg time released Niacin in the evening. I found a product from Carlson's called "Niacin time".They are an outstanding company and I take many of their products Their time released Niacin is designed to be released 5 to 7 hours. I was wondering if anyone would suggest me adding this to my Redy Yeast Rice? My HDL right now is 42 as of my test a week ago. I want to raise it higher as I am almost borderline having 40 being minimal good range. I am just very concerned overloading my liver taking 1,200mg RYR twice daily and adding 500mg time released niacin. Any comments of suggestions would most greatly be appreciated. Thank you very much! :)

I tried red yeast rice and it did nothing for me. Tried 10 mg Lipitor and all of my muscles painfullly locked up. Took a year to recover. After four years, tried again, and Im on 80 mg Lescol XL which reduced my LDL from 308 to 103. I tried 500 mg no flush time release niacin from Wallys mart twice a day. It lowered my LDL another 10 points to 93, raised my HDL only from 39 to 40. This greatly improved my ratio though. So I dont know if the RYR is helping you, but the niacin only helped my LDL.. so Im going to stay on it.
