Hi all,
I've just signed up so thought I'd introduce myself.
I've had FM for many years but was diagnosed around 5 years ago.
I also have OCD and depression which I take Dosulepin for. Ironically the meds have eased my FM somewhat, especially helping me sleep.
I have a very supportive husband who just accepts how I feel day to day and helps however he can.
I am actually at a stage of just pain right now and can actually walk some distance. I know it won't last but I'm making the most of it until the walking sticks come out again.
Well that's me in a nutshell.
Nice to meet you all.

Hello Bouncy, I love your name! I can picture you in my mind and see you
bouncing down the road. It sounds like you are making progress and walking
is great for us with fibro. You will find so many new friends here on the board.
We have some really smart folks who always try to encourage and there's time we all need that.
I hope you post often and tell us more about yourself. A hearty welcome to
you and I pray your good days continue.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
I'm feeling particularly good today as my daughter got great GCSE results.
It amazes me that when I have something to smile about I cope better with the fibro.
I've read a lot of posts and can see you are all very supportive which is great.
Maybe I'll be able to offer some support along the way.
Hope so anyway.

Hi
I am very new as well just having signed up...
It took quite a while to finally go to the Dr for help and then took forever to be diagnosed. My DR at the time futzed around and eventually put me out on permanent medical leave without a difinative diagnosis. Could not work so lost my job and of course my insurance. Eventually got signed onto the Colorado Springs medical program and eventually found my way to the Senior Medical Clinic where they started from scratch and diagnosed me. Then took another 2 years to finally win my SSDI.
I have been told that fibro is really another form of MS and I am being treated with Neuronton. I am also being treated with Aricept to combat the "fog". To be honest I really know very little about all this and just try to get through the day. Which lately is harder.
I have moved home to a small Central Oregon Community which has its benefits as well as drawbacks.
Sorry to have just rambled but not used to doing this...

Hi ya'll. Nice to meet ya! Boodawg...sorry you had such a hard time getting diagnosed. Finding a good dr is tough. I am blessed that out in the middle of nowhere I have a great GP. (Of course I have to travel 2 hours to get to any kind of specialist!) That's one bad thing about small towns, you don't have a lot of choices. Hope that won't be a problem since your move. I've never heard of Aricept used for fibro fog. I'm interested to know if anyone else has? As for getting through the day...hang in there. Some days will be better than others.

Hi Samm
Thanks for writting,,
I have found a pretty good clinic in Bend, OR that I have been going to.
It is good to hear that the "fog " is a general fibro thing. Just sometimes nice to know someone else out there understands. I hope that sounded right??
Just even after all this time, hard to adjust to not doing alot of the things I always did. Plus my Golden who had been with me for almost 16 years passed away a couple months ago, and I am struggling with a new puppy I just got. I fear that was a major mistake.
Please stay in touch??
