Just wonderd if there are many people from the uk using this site, there seems to be lots of people from round the world on here - I was curious to know if there are lots of people in our situation from the uk on here? Anyways a big HELLO! to everyone reading this ;) :)

Hello to Mother Land. I live near Fort McHenry, the site of the Battle of 1812, where we kicked your butt. What is the testing proceedure for HSV in the UK? I know you have national health care. Can you get tested readily? Will they type the HSV?

Hi ya!
You can either go to your local g.p or sexual health clinic where they will take a swab of the leision to identify if it is hsv or not - not sure if they can tell if it is type 1 or 2 by doing this. I was diagnosed by a blood test and they also were able to tell me what type I had

Yes, they can type from the liquid in the vesicle if they lance it. Do they prescribe Valtrex over there?
