Ok --
Been TTC 1 year...had some bumps along the way and had to go back on the pill for endo/cysts, ya di ya.
I was on the pill continuosly for 3 months and stopped the pill on August 7th, had some spotting on the 10th. I was going for an HSG and RE told me to take a HPT so I did that on the 14th and it was neg.
In the mean time, RE told me to do BBT and the pee sticks.
My temperatures are all over the place. I've been taking them the same time every day when I wake up. They are steady for 2-3 days, then it goes up, then back down to steady, then back up. I finally had a big drop yesterday, but it only went up a little bit today. Plus, the stick I did yesterday I couldn't read! Part of the line was as dark as and the otehr part was a bit lighter than the control line?!?!?! So I did the stick today and it was obvious in color difference!
What is going on??? Should my temp go up gradually? Or should it have shot up since the drop yesterday? I'm sooooooo confused!
Thanks for your help in advance!

Best thing to do is to read the book Taking Charge Of Your Fertility. It explains in detail how to chart your BBT and what to expect and how to read it.
We dont all have a big dip and gradual rise.
When I was temping I had a slight dip and then shot up for two temps then leveled out til AF arrived and then a new cycle started.
The book I mentioned should be in every fertility dr's office and on the first visit a woman should be given a copy. Or better yet in health class during high school it should be madatory reading..lol.

TCOYF is fantastic! It will help you sooo much!
You could also take your charts in to talk to your Dr. about. They should be able to help you read them.
Some women see a big temp spike after O. Mine goes up over 2-3 days.
Good Luck!

Thanks...I'm gonna hit B&N this weekend....it's just frustrating! I finally saw the dip and then the spike, but the ov. sticks are always negative! My sister-in-law told me it's best to just BD every other day from the end of AF.
All those years of worrying about getting pregnant and now I want to and it's not that easy!
Geesh!

OPKs dont work for me. I had one wonderful dr tell me that there are some women who no matter what those silly things dont work even if they have perfect normal cycles.
I then had anotehr dr tell me they work for everyone and that I just wasnt Oing. I laughed at him and pointed to my youngest son and said then how did he get here. I kid you not. I was charting and taking OPKs the cycle I got pregnant with him. I never got a + OPK that cycle but i did get my dip and rise. Low and behold 13 days later I decided to get a blood test done even though my AF was 2 days away.
So dont put too much faith in OPKs.

Thanks Blastoff...I was starting to think that about OPK's because I was using them previously and out of 8 months of using them EVERYDAY, I got 1 + test. So of course I assumed I was not ovulating...But I guess with my the looks of my temperature chart, I must be or it wouldn't look like it does...
I'm not gonna waste my money on them anymore...

Ok so someone told me today that she knew 4 people who did OPK and they always showed up negitive so they assumed they weren't working. Well apperently they were.. I guess these girls had normal charts, would appear that they were ovulating but ended up that they weren't. IS that possible would you get a temp spike if you weren't ovulating?

Hmm...I just assumed that if your temp changes the way it's supposed to then you ovulated. I guess maybe your hormones could be changing properly, but the egg isn't dropping? Not sure...
