Hi, i'm sixteen and about a week ago i found a small lump in my left breast in the areola region, close to my nipple. It's hard and oval shaped, kind of like peanut m&m sized lol. it doesn't hurt but it's not going away or getting any smaller. i saw my general doctor and he gave me a referral to see a surgeon in a week. I was wondering if anyone knew what the lump could be?

My daughter had a similar lump at age 17. It was a fibroma (benign lump) which is very common. She still had to have it biopsied to make quite sure, but that was the end of it. Good luck, Sera

As a teenager I also had a lump, doctor checked again a month later and it was gone completely! Have you heard about cottage cheese and flax seed oil? You might consider trying 1 T. Barlean's highest lignan flax seed oil mixed with 1/4 c. low fat organic cottage cheese. It's important to use cottage cheese for its sulfur based binding properties. Please research on the internet; you'll find that this is a very common recipe for breast pain problems, including breast cancer. I take it daily as a natural blood cleanser. I hope you'll feeling better.
God's blessings to you,
Kelly

Hi
That M&M peanut description is perfect! Chuckles.
It could be an infected milk gland ( don't have to be pregnant for this to happen).
It could be a node that swells during ovulation or just before your period. (I used to get a huge swelling every month right before my period and it was in my armpit of all places!)
It could be a benign cyst or a fatty tumor ( also a benign thing).
It could be from caffeine! ( my friend had swellings in her breast, had them biopsied, they were benign. Her doctor, a naturalist, told her to get off the coffee as this could be causing the swellings... sure enough, she did and the swellings disppeared for good).
It could be something serious. Don't fool around. Get to the doctor and have it checked. It is something that should cause concern and it obviously is. Smiles. You are a woman now, and Baby, real women take good care of themselves!
Let us know.
Peaceout
