View Full Version : Looking for Advice of Peroneal Brevis Tendon Post Op

Hi There-
I am 3 weeks post-op from having the tendon repaired that was torn. I was doing well, and had the soft cast off. The past week the swelling has greatly increased, and the doctor has put me back into a soft cast. I seem to be going backwards. Just wondering if I am expecting too much after surgery. He wants me walking with the boot and out crutches and perhaps I am taking that too literally (as my job requires walking the majority of the day).

How soon have people gone back to work and to what extent are people walking? I am loosing the last crutch tomorrow and will be using a cane as needed (PT's advice)

Also I need to find a shoe to wear on my opposite foot. Something that will elevate me a bit due to the height of the boot so I don't walk lopsided. He recommended New Balance tennis shoes. Does anybody have any suggestions with specific shoes?

Thanks
Cyndi

I'm 4 weeks post op for the same surgery. I'm still in a fiberglass cast, weight bearing. I've pretty much ditched the crutches, but today my ankle has told me to slow down again. My swelling is down to pretty much nothing. The pain comes and goes, depending on how much I do. What is a soft cast? I think you may be putting too much on your foot too soon.

Tina
