I couldn't find any threads specifically like this, but if there is one already existing, sorry 'bout that.

Anyways, I may just be paranoid, but I'm new to birth control (ortho tri-cyc lo) and I just don't have much faith in them yet, lol. A little late to be having so much doubt, I know, since I have had sex without a condom in the past two weeks with my bf of 6 months. Tomorrow is my last active pill and I have never been so eager to get my period. This will be my second finished pack, and I had gone through an entire pack before I ever had sex. I guess I'm taking them correctly. I've never missed one for more than an hour of the time that I always take them. I'm probably just freaking myself out a lot more than necessary, like I've been looking up the prices for abortions and such.

Did anybody else have doubts like this when they first started?

Oh, and one more concern, I got my period about two days late (I'd taken 2 green pills already) but I was bleeding for probably 10 days even after I had started the active pills again, is that normal? or does my body just need to adjust to the cycle?

These questions and concerns probably seem pretty ignorant, but I can only find pretty basic info online.

IM SURE you will be fine...if you are taking your pills regularly and didnt miss one the day you had sex you will be fine....you are looking way to far into it...just relax...the more worked up and stressed you get the longer your period will stay away

Oh yeah, I definitely had a hard time trusting my bc pill when I first started taking it. Like you, I also eagerly waited for my period! It still amazes me that such a tiny pill can prevent pregnancy, but it's been over 2 years since I've been on them, and no pregnancy yet. It will take some time to get used to trusting it, but I found that after the first few months, the doubt went away. :)
