I saw your post under another topic (didn't want to bring that one back to the top) and wanted to welcome you to the board.
There's lots of good info here and I have found some very helpful advice. I hope I have helped someone along the way too if just by saying a few kind words.
Stick around and feel free to use us to vent to when needed. We're all here to help each other. Sometimes you just need a sympathetic ear.

Welcome Cossie!!!! I relatively new to the board too; but, it has already been a wonderful experience. Hope you "enjoy" being a part of one "big happy family" cause that is what you have found!! I told my husband the other day it is wonderful to have a place to go where everyone knows my name and understands my pain--a very rare comodity with FMS. Once again, welcome!! HOpe to see lots of you!!

Hi Cossie and Fawnnie, welcome to you both! This board is super for information and support and definitely go back and read some of the earlier posts on prior pages, there's lots of good information, it helped me tremendously! I've gotten further here than with any of my doctors and I would say 100% that this board and everyone who has been posting has really saved my life and made a huge difference in my actually getting BETTER! :) It also gave me the courage to ask questions of my healthcare providers and to switch docs when I needed to. The best thing we can do is to educate ourselves about FM and I don't think there's a better place to do that than from a bunch of people living daily with this awful illness. We've all been there and done that. Just remember, FM is an elusive little bugger and what works for one person doesn't alway work for another so keep an open mind and keep plugging away, many of us have found solutions!
Best wishes,
Rachael

Thank you all for the "welcome"...I really appreciate it. :)
So I decided to ask the pharmisist about Ultram (after reading some of the posts)...They never heard of it.. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/confused.gif
There must be a generic name that is used in Canada.
Any idea what that generic name is?

I don't think there is a generic version of Ultram. Otherwise, I'm sure my insurance company would suggest I use it, since generic is always cheaper.
Go online and find the pharmaceutical company that makes it and contact them. Maybe it's not available in Canada. That seems odd, though.
Good luck!
