I am one of those vets who is suffering fibromylagia.
I was never over there thoe,My Doctor just recently diagnosed me, because he was stumped.Every thing in my body checks out normal. All this started with flu like symptoms at first back in 91 and later on turned into where i am at today.I have been out of work for two years and hurting all over.I am now taking nortrypiline
100mg and zoloft 50mg for the day time.I am also going to massage therapy at the va free of charge, thank god.
it does help and feels good.i am not so much into the rubbing, but the stretching helps with my stiffness that i get all the time. There is a nother sight that might help you deal with this the sight is www.gulfwarvets.com.We (http://www.gulfwarvets.com.We) are all suffering and no where to put the blame. And to sart it all was those docs thought we were faking it,Well I dont think so.I put the blame on the shot that were given to me.Especialy one that always made me sick for three day and having the doctor tell me that that was normal"I DON'T THINK SO".Being sick with fever ,joint pain, head aches that made your head feel like it was going to explode, and least of all my sinus prob that when i blew my nose this green flouracent type mucus came out.All this started an hour after recieving the shots.Well if you need to talk or vent my Email=marka482@aol.com
I hope this helps and take care and God Bless.

Dear Vets, Really, really sorry you are dealing with this dd!!! I just read an interesting article today about mycoplasma infections in Gulf War vets and people with CFS and FM:
http://www.immunesupport.com/library/showarticle.cfm?ID=3066

Have either of you tried the long-term antibiotics treatment discussed in the article? I don't know what the ABs are that are used to treat these things, other than the doxycyline that is mentioned. I have heard from some people that taking some ABs has made a big difference in their pain levels and symptoms, tho.

I have been reading more about mycoplasma and other weird infections recently, because they seem to play a role in FM for some people. I didn't like reading about commercial vaccinations being contaminated at all!

You might want to check out Dr. Huggins website, as he addresses this issue, concerning Gulf War sickness. I don't know a lot about it. I just happened to see it the other day, when I was doing some research.

Check out my post in response to someone asking about links to chemical exposures and Fibromyalgia. There's a link to a very thorough study on the subject of chemical exposures, development of chemical sensitivities and Fibromyalgia.

My interest is that I had an acute chemical exposure of a combination of several chemicals/gasses which has led to symptoms that match Fibromyalgia, and other symptoms too, though there is no official diagnosis at this time with respect to my joint and mukscle pains.

You all take care now.
Sincerely,
Caring
