In the last 2 weeks, since I've cut down the pain meds considerably, I've had trouble sleeping. I can't seem to fall asleep at night. Mind ya, I've had/have troubles with insomnia and take Lunesta as needed. Besides not being comfortable any which way I try to lay, could the pain meds be causing this? I'm on vicodin now. I swear I feel like I need need a body overhaul now.

I had nights where I just couldn't sleep. Sitting on your bottom all day really doesn't help. Vicodin made me sleepy which helped. When I couldn't sleep, rather than laying there and getting frustrated with myself, I would work on puzzles in one of those variety puzzle books or play one of those stupid handheld games until I got tired enough to sleep. Sometimes it was a couple hours. I quit caring about what time it was because watching the clock just makes it worse.

I too have not slept since I stopped taking the Vicodin. I'm 3 1/2 weeks post op and stopped taking the Vicodin about 2 weeks ago. Before surgery I took Ambien for sleeping, and but even now with that I not had a single night of decent sleep. I probably sleep no more than 2 hours at a time due to discomfort. I read on one of the threads about putting pillows under the matress to create elevation without losing pillows in the middle of the night but this caused discomfort with my back.
If anybody finds some useful suggestions I'l love to hear them.
