I've been prescribed Skelaxin, but I'm not getting much relief from it. Can anybody recommend a good muscle relaxer?

Debra, Skelaxin never helped me at all...but, everybody is different. You should let your doctor know that it's not helping and maybe he/she can prescribe something else...it's all trial and error, unfortunately.

Debra, I'm not trying to push any products, but I take Flexril (cyclobenzaprine) for my "bad days"..The reason that I don't use them all the time, is that after a while, because it's a muscle relaxer, it relaxes the small valve to my stomach, then I get gas reflux...but you might have better luck with it...(each body is different :))

Elivil is a big thing with FM patients.
This is a anti-depressant with muscle relaxer agents in it...I had taken them for a while (approx. 4-5 months)...My body didn't like those ...I was like a zombie all the time...(not a good thing to be like a zombie when your unloading trucks full of liquor with a fork lift :D )

Not to put your spirit down or depress you but after 13 years of this roller coaster ride (trying out different pills)..I'm still looking for something for my sore legs....You might get luckier than me with one of these products...Hey, you never know....they might come out with a pill just for us fibromites next week or month...Right?.. :)...well here's to hoping.

Good Luck

Flexaril gives me a lot of relief but I can only take it at night, it's very sedating.

For non-medical muscle relief, I found a web site with GREAT massage oils and my hubbie gives me massages. Sex is great for relaxing too, the two always seem to go together for us...... ;)
